The central geographic location of the Kazanlak municipality turns it into a location, next to which major transport routes connect the eastern, western, northern and southern parts of Bulgaria and Balkans.
The city has transport links by road and by rail with all parts of the country.
The capital city – Sofia can be reached in 2 hours and 20 minutes, the South biggest regional center - Plovdiv in 1 hour and 20 minutes, the regional city center Stara Zagora for half an hour. The port cities Bourgass (The Black Sea) and Rousse (The Danube River) are also easily reached.
A new biggest transport project is upcoming in the next year– The Shipka Tunnel, which will be the shortest route from Istanbul to the Danube River.

Turnovo - Kazanlak - St. Zagora - Haskovo - Kardzhali - Makaza border checkpoint) and I-6 (border checkpoint Gyueshevo - Kyustendil - Sofia - Karlovo - Kazanlak - Sliven - Bourgas), with north-south and east-west orientations respectively, which are the main transport arteries of the national road network.

Kazanlak provides good railway connectivity as a crossing point of passengers and cargo in all directions through:
Ill-rd main railway line (Sofia - Karlovo - Varna / Burgas), part of the route of Pan-European Corridor Vlll, served by three stations and two stops;
IV-th main railway line (Ruse - St. Zagora - Kardzhali - Podkova), part of the route of Pan-European Corridor IX through the nearby Tulovo and Dabovo stations.
Since 2010, one of the largest railway companies in Europe - Rail Cargo Austria, based on the near Stara Zagora Cargo Railway Station conducts through the region regular freight transport from Central Europe to Turkey and vice versa.
